Today marks the 5th day since the FIFA World Cup began, marking Germany’s 4-0 win over Portugal’s defeat. Then, Nigeria and Iran then entered into the game and played it down to a 0-0 tie, leaving both sides of the Fan opposition at a stand-still and with fans screaming their disappointment at the stadium.
With the United States team defeating Ghana with a 2-1 during a Group G football match at the Dunas Arena in Natal, this leaves off with the U.S. playing Portugal next on Sunday on the 22nd, having the fans of both teams going wild at the Stadium rooting for their favorite team.
The prize money offered for this tournament was confirmed by FIFA at being $576 million dollars (including the payments of $70 million to domestic clubs)- making this a 37% percent increase from the amount which was dispensed during in the 2010 tournament. Prior to the tournament, each of the 32 entrants will receive a settled amount of $1.5 million for preparation costs.
